Are you enjoying your springtime? Today is the first day of spring, and I'm feeling impatient for summer! Spring is a beautiful time of year, to be sure, but after all this rainy coldness I'd like to see more sunshine and less rain. Funny how every year I feel that, and then of course after a hot summer I'm ready for cooler days. You just can't keep me happy, weather-wise, I guess.
Not long ago I spent the day daydreaming about surfboards as if I could ever get on one. Well, maybe! I'm 59 and adventurous to an extent, so a surfing adventure could be exactly what I'd want this summer. You see, I watched an amazing surfing movie a few months back, and can't get the beauty of the big waves out of my mind.
Let's face it, this has been a long, cold, dreary winter for me. I lost my father last October and it took me all this time to process that terrible reality. I know people have to go sometime, but I wasn't ready, even though my father was 88 years of age. Let's change the subject.
Summer is coming. I love that! Summer will be beautiful, life is beautiful, and I'm cheering up right now at the thought of it. However, this is only the first day of spring and I've got three more months to wait for the official summer to begin. Let me daydream... about swimming pools and water blasters and creating a happy home life so I can enjoy this summer in a happy, contented way.
